How it all began...

Sometimes, the most serendipitous moments give birth to remarkable ventures…

One such moment unfolded when, Ulrike, one of our founders, found herself overseas, savouring a picturesque view of the sea from a cosy bar. Engaged in casual conversation with fellow patrons, they asked her if she could name a place more beautiful than the one they were enjoying.

Ulrike, a goldsmith and designer by trade, inspired, sketched the silhouette of Table Mountain on a napkin. Her companions instantly recognised it and marvelled “”You’re right, it really is one of the most beautiful places in the world” – associating it immediately with the enchanting essence of Cape Town – its breathtaking beaches, thrilling hikes, exquisite wines, gourmet cuisine, world-class golf courses, and luxurious lodges.

Struck by how her simple drawing evoked such vivid and fond memories, Ulrike had an epiphany. Could this iconic image serve as the foundation for a brand that encapsulates the allure of Cape Town’s lifestyle, nature, and luxury? The seed of a grand idea was planted.

A few weeks later, while visiting Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa, Ulrike and her team sought the perfect name for their budding brand. They drew inspiration from the geographic extremity they were at and decided that their brand would embody the essence of the southernmost part of Africa. Hence, “MOST SOUTHERN” was born, with the emblematic Table Mountain as its logo.

From the outset, “MOST SOUTHERN” was imbued with a sense of responsibility. The brand, after all, was inspired by Mother Nature’s masterpiece. This respect manifests in the authenticity of their products, all of which are crafted in Cape Town, designed under the majestic shadow of Table Mountain. Each item reflects the lifestyle and activities cherished by the people who both live in and visit Cape Town, symbolising a deep connection to the region’s natural beauty and vibrant culture.

Thus, “MOST SOUTHERN” stands as a testament to the enchanting serendipity that sparked its creation and the unwavering commitment to honouring the iconic landscape that inspired it.
